Most of you know I’ve spent the last six months in limbo while not covering Michigan athletics.?
My former employer had me sign a contract 60 days before terminating me that legally didn’t allow me to publish anything about Michigan athletics for a 6-month period. Today, six months later, the wait is finally over.
If you follow my Twitter account, then I’m sure you’ve seen me address this topic whenever asked about it. The days following my termination, it was something I discussed more than I wished I would have. Of course, when you get a job the day after you’re fired, then the company that fires you informs that you can’t take it – you get pissed off.
The reason for this letter, blog, or whatever, is to let everyone know that the entire situation is behind me. It sucked, no doubt, but dwelling isn’t going to do anything but make me look petty – and I’m not that. As you can tell, more and more people are exiting there, so who knows, maybe TWL will surpass their numbers in our first month (petty).
In all seriousness, I’ve always been one to try my best to not hold grudges, and rather to see the good in people. I’ve always rooted for all of my friends at that company and wanted the best for them – regardless of what happened with me. I’ll continue to do that.
All in all, I’ve written about this topic on Twitter and wanted to address it?one last time before I’m back to normal, like nothing ever happened.
Time for the future.
What does the future behold?
The Wolverine Lounge is set for takeoff. I’ll be covering the football team, alongside Eric Coughlin, the hockey team, and my main focus remains recruiting. If you followed any of my work before, you know how much I love this stuff. I put out as much content as I can, obtain as much info as humanly possible, and tell y’all just about everything I know that I feel comfortable with sharing.
Whether it’s a hot take, a recruiting note, etc. – you’ll find all of it here, back again.
A huge thank you to all those who supported me in this time. That includes Isaiah Hole, who’s become my best friend in the industry and someone I may/may not trust as much as I want to kick in the face. On top of that, mgoblog for voicing support for my situation; Steve Lorenz for bringing me onto Michigan’s 247Sports page, despite it being short-lived due to the contract; All those who reached out with legal help; All those who took it upon themselves to voice their opinion on a public platform in support of some 21-year-old they enjoy reading. To everyone reading this, thank you & I’m happy you’re here for the new journey.
Now – let’s never mention any of that again … time for take off.
Sit back, relax, and enjoy your time inside The Wolverine Lounge.
