Poll recap: Michigan drops to No. 22 in AP Poll

Michigan basketball fell to No. 22 in the AP Top 25 Poll released this Monday.

The Wolverines went 1-1 last week with a loss at Northwestern and a win at Wisconsin.

Northwestern (15-11) was a 52-61 loss. Then-ranked No. 20, Michigan shot only 39-percent from the floor and 23-percent beyond the arc.

The 83-72 win over Wisconsin (11-16) showcased a dominant win for Michigan, despite a career high 29-point game from Badgers forward Ethan Happ.

Who has Michigan beat in the AP Top 25?

None of the teams that Michigan beat prior to this week broke the top 25, so their only Top 25 win remains the victory at Michigan State.

The Spartans climbed up 2 spots to the No. 2 ranking, behind only top-ranked Virginia.

Who has Michigan lost to in the AP Top 25?

Michigan has 2 losses to Purdue this season. With losses to Ohio State and Michigan State, the Boilermakers dropped 3 spots and are ranked No. 6.

The other top 25 losses are at Ohio State and at North Carolina.

With a big win against Purdue, Ohio State moved all the way up from No. 14 to No. 8.

North Carolina had a huge win over Duke, which bumped them up from No. 21 to No. 14.

None of Michigan’s losses that weren’t previously in the Top 25 entered the Top 25 this week.

While Nebraska, who beat Michigan at home, didn’t enter the Top 25, the Huskers did receive 15 votes.

Looking for revenge after the meltdown in Columbus earlier this season, the Wolverines take on the No. 8 Buckeyes at home on Feb. 18.

No team that is remaining on the schedule received a vote.
