Poll Recap: Michigan moves up to No. 15 heading into BTT

Michigan Basketball hopped two spots, up to No. 15, in the AP Top 25 released this Monday.

With road wins over Penn State and Maryland, the Wolverines finished the week 2-0.

Penn State (19-12) came on strong in the second half, but the Wolverines were able to hold on to an early lead and win an important road game, 72-63. Big Ten sixth man of the year Duncan Robinson had a team-high 19 points. Penn State guard Tony Carr had 21 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 blocks and a steal.

Maryland (19-2) was a blow out 85-61?win behind Muhammad-Ali Abdur-Rahkman’s monster 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. The Wolverines dominated throughout.

Who has Michigan beat in the AP Top 25?

Neither of the Wolverines’ wins this week were Top 25 wins. Though, the two Top 25 teams Michigan beat earlier in the season – Michigan State and Ohio State – remained in the top 25.

Ohio State (24-7)?had a win over Rutgers and a double?OT win?at Indiana. The Buckeyes moved up 3 spots to No. 13.

Michigan State (28-3) had 2 wins over Illinois and Wisconsin, which kept them at their No. 2 ranking.

Who has Michigan lost to in the AP Top 25?

Purdue has two wins over the Wolverines this year, and they picked up wins over Illinois and Minnesota this week. The Boilermakers moved up a spot to No. 8.

Michigan’s other top 25 losses remain North Carolina and Ohio State.

North Carolina moved to No. 9 with wins over Louisville and Syracuse.

None of Michigan?s losses that weren?t previously in the Top 25 entered the Top 25 this week, nor did any of their previous losses receive any votes.

Who does Michigan have left on its schedule in the AP Top 25?

The rest of Michigan’s schedule is up in the air with the Big Ten Tournament beginning this week. They could end up playing anybody in the Big Ten, so the only teams in the AP Top 25 teams they could play is Michigan State (No. 2), Purdue (No. 8) and Ohio State (No. 13).
