2019 New Canaan (Conn.) OT Jack Stewart announced his commitment to Michigan Monday night.
Stewart boasts offers from Texas A&M, TCU, Ole Miss, Arizona, Boston College, Indiana, and more. The 6-foot-5, 280 pound prospect received the offer from Michigan just ten days ago while on a visit.
The Northeast region – especially Connecticut – has been a point of emphasis for Michigan since defensive coordinator Don Brown joined the staff two years ago.
His connections to the area, having previously coached at Boston College, played a huge role in landing Stewart. Brown has put Michigan in prime contention for other Northeast prospects, such as talented WR Cornelius Johnson and four-star S Tyler Rudolph.
Stewart’s commitment gives Michigan nine overall in the 2019 class, and their third on the offensive line.
The Wolverines have garnered two commitments in two days, the other being from Te’Cory Couch on Sunday.
Michigan has the best recruiting class in the Big Ten and 5th-best in the nation, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
