Michigan redshirt freshman DE Deron Irving-Bey is transferring to CMU, a source confirmed to The Wolverine Louge. The news was first?reported?by Evan Petzold via CM Life.?

The Flint, Mich. native recorded no stats while at Michigan as he was redshirted during his freshman campaign in 2017.

At this juncture, Irving-Bey?s decision can only speculated. The most likely scenario is playing time.

Based on conversations with sources throughout the summer, Irving-Bey hadn?t worked his way up the d-line depth chart.

Irving-Bey was a 3-star out of high school and a U.S. Army All-American. He picked Michigan over Michigan State, Iowa and Maryland. He committed with a commitment video by Land of 10.

Irving-Bey is already on campus at CMU for the fall semester. He will not be eligible for the 2018 season.
