It’s been over a year since sophomore wide receiver Tarik Black has been on the field for Michigan. Following a broken foot in Week 3 of the 2017 season, Black was sidelined until 2018. In August, during fall camp, Black suffered another broken foot, to the opposite foot, and has missed all four of the Wolverines game so far.
During Jim Harbaugh’s weekly Monday press conference, the Wolverines head coach updated media on the status of Black’s injury.
“Things look really good,” Harbaugh said of Black’s status. “His doctor will be in town during the Lions and Packers game and I think he has an appointment set for then”
The staff has been consistent about its expectations for Black to return. That return, based on what Harbaugh and players said Monday, sounds like it could be sooner than later.
Black’s doctor, according to Harbaugh, will be in town on the weekend of Oct. 5 (the Lions and Packers play Oct. 7). The Wolverines play Maryland Oct. 6 and Wisconsin the following week.
