Week 2: Who’s in? Who’s Out?

Football

Each week before kickoff, we’ll list impact players who are in and out of action.

From our eyes, here’s the Week 2 list.

In:

QB Shea Patterson (dressed) — Patterson was evaluated for an injury at halftime last week, but ultimately returned to the game and threw just four passes in the second half. He’ll be active today, but expect to see quite a bit of Dylan McCaffrey if the score becomes lopsided.

LT Jon Runyan (available) — Sources confirmed that Runyan was banged up in the weeks leading up to last Saturday’s game. Though he was dressed against Middle Tennessee State, Ryan Hayes got the nod at left tackle. It’s not confirmed whether Runyan will play in today’s game or not, but expect Michigan to sit its senior left tackle if there’s any chance to aggravate a lingering injury.

DL Donovan Jeter (active) — Michigan defensive line coach Shaun Nua confirmed that Jeter is “ready to go” for Saturday afternoon’s game when he addressed reporters on Wednesday. Jeter could be see time with the starting defensive line.

DL Mike Dwumfour (active) — Nua also confirmed that Dwumfour will play against Army, though he warmed up with a club on his right hand.

Out:

WR Donovan Peoples-Jones — Michigan’s star junior wideout was in a walking boot last week. He took the field wearing street clothes on Saturday afternoon for pregame warmups without the boot.

RB Tru Wilson — The senior pass-blocking guru took the field wearing a cast ahead of the Wolverines’ matchup against Army.
