Otis Reese spurns Michigan on Signing Day, chooses Georgia

After being committed to Michigan for nearly two years, 4-star LB Otis Reese signed with Georgia on National Signing Day.

The Lee County (Ga.) product committed with his former high school teammate Aubrey Solomon – now a rising sophomore DT at Michigan – in the summer of 2016. Reese hadn’t budged on his commitment until the final whistle, when he signed his Letter of Intent with the Bulldogs on Signing Day.

Despite never backing off on his commitment, the last-second flip from Reese doesn’t come unexpected. The Wolverine Lounge has had its Crystal Ball Selection on UGA for Reese since Jan. 10.

Confidence from both Georgia and Michigan’s staff stayed afloat in the final stages, but a final message from a source on Tuesday led me to leaving my Crystal Ball on the ‘Dawgs.

Michigan’s 2018 class added no players on National Signing Day, the biggest news being Reese’s departure.

In-state commitment Vincent Gray signed his LOI. Commitments Ronnie Bell and Michael Barrett are expected to later Wednesday morning.

This is the lowest class ranking in Jim Harbaugh’s tenure at Michigan.
