Michigan’s 2018 recruiting class hasn’t received as much media attention as Jim Harbaugh’s last two prolific classes.
That’s expected to change soon from what I’ve been told.
After a few words with those in the 2018 class, it sounds like the Wolverines are expecting to land multiple commitments in the near future.
That’s not something we haven’t already heard from other outlets. Multiple reports shed on the likelihood of 3-star TE Tommy Tremble choosing the Wolverines to have risen exponentially following his official visit and an in-home visit from Jim Harbaugh. The same goes for Michigan’s chances with 4-star WR Ja’Marr Chase – reported by Sam Webb.
Great to have Coach Harbaugh and Coach Frey over tonight, but especially honored to their first Home visit too! #GoBlue 〽️〽️ @CoachJim4UM pic.twitter.com/axaYeLJxsF

On top of that, though, the pledges in the class have communicated with other targets that have relayed the message of either A. Their plans to choose Michigan or B. Their current status as strong leans towards the Wolverines.
This stems from a very successful recruiting weekend during the Ohio State game, which was hosted in Ann Arbor. Despite the loss, the atmosphere was electric, the staff orchestrated great visits, and the aftermath has been beyond promising.

It’s a short list of recruits that remain on Michigan’s radar for its 2018 class.
The remaining top priorities include:
Baltimore (Md.) 5-star DE Eyabi Anoma, Tampa (Fla.) 4-star OT Nicholas Petit-Frere, Metairie (La.) 4-star WR JaMarr Chase, Jersey City (N.J.) 4-star DT Tyler Friday, Blairstown (N.J.) 4-star DE Jayson Oweh, and Norcross (Ga.) 3-star TE Tommy Tremble.
Meanwhile, recruits such as Corvallis (Ore.) 4-star ATH Talanoa Hufanga, Gardena (Calif.) 4-star ATH Bryan Addison, Mission Viejo (Calif.) 3-star OT Jarrett Patterson, and San Marcos (Calif.) 3-star WR Chris Olave, are all still in the picture, but likely headed elsewhere.
Expect – at the very least – two of the names in the first group to drop in “the next month or so,” I’m told.
I’ll go more in-depth on the need of each remaining target next week. For now, stay tuned to TWL for any updates.
