Former Ole Miss safety Deontay Anderson is ready to make a decision next week on what school he will attend in 2018.
Anderson – a redshirt sophomore – sat out the 2017 season to redshirt. We now see why he made that decision, as he will transfer out with three years of eligibility left.
He was granted his release from Ole Miss last week.

As a freshman, Anderson was named to the second-team All-Freshman team in the SEC. A season in which he racked up over 30 tackles, 1.5 TFL, and an interception in limited time, including one start.
A source in Anderson’s circle told The Wolverine Lounge on Tuesday night that Michigan is “for sure the No. 1 school” for the safety, following a visit from Jim Harbaugh on Tuesday morning.
We’re told the visit left Anderson “loving” Harbaugh.

What’s most notable about what TWL learned from the source tonight is the timetable of Anderson’s decision. He wants to make his decision by “Sunday or Monday.”
Anderson visits Michigan Saturday. That’s some convenient timing for the Wolverines.
He’ll be accompanied by former No. 1 QB recruit Shea Patterson and former Michigan recruiting target WR Van Jefferson. The possibility of all three coming together is legit. TWL was told that it’s not “planned out,” for the trio to all go to the same school. Despite that, if all three play together next season, Michigan sounds like the only school that would be possible at.
TWL has enough to say the most likely destinations for both Shea Patterson & Deontay Anderson is Michigan – but nothing’s ever a lock in college football. As for Jefferson, not as much is known, but he has tons of connections to Michigan. His father played for the Lions, he was down to Ole Miss & Michigan on Signing Day, etc.
